I'm Alive and Hangin' Out w/ Frances...
Have you ever played that game "Red Light, Green Light!"?? Well for those of you unfamiliar with it. A child stands at another side of a lawn, field and calls to a group of other children Green Light, whih means they run towards this one child and when he/she yells Stop Light, they have to stop until they are called again by the child and the first to reach this child wins.
I feel Hurricane Frances had played that game with Florida all day yesturday. 4 mph, 6 mph, 4 mph, 5 mph and Stationary??!! WTF??? We were making jokes over here how she wouldn't come on land till Wednesday or wait for Hurricane Ivan to come push her ass on to land. (Yes, there is another major Hurricane out there named Ivan and well lets talk about that one later.)
I finally went to sleep when the eye started making land fall near Fort Pierce, FL at 1 am this morning. I tossed and turned due to waking up all the time to the sound of the wind and woke up groggy and stumbling towards the door wanting to know if my van was still located on the side of the road or had it taken a trip to Alabama with out my permission.
Were alive! We have never lost power/cable yet, hopefully we won't and I am awaiting my ride tomorrow to see how my apartment faired in the tree jungle neighborhood I live in. Good Luck to everyone still in harms way or that are in FL.
