Row, Row, Row Your Car Gently Down The Flooded Road...

Winter Park? More like Water Park...

I leave here from work yesturday around 5:50'sh do to the pouring rain we had been recieving for the past hour. Chatted with BigDaddy and Mickey225's beau on Yahoo IM system. I left so hungry, I hit the Taco Bell place on my way out.

I'm driving across 436 coming off University to head towards my apartment and there is a good 7-8 inches of water in the middle of the road. Cars were going slow and I prayed my van would get thru it. It did and I headed on down the road to Cady Way.

I turn right to see cop cars with their lights on all over the street. I'm thinking oh my god what happened? Then I see it. If I had a raft I could have easily rowed my ass home. Right between the Brookshire Elm. School and the YMCA pool was a good 2-3 feet water. I quickly make a u-turn along with other cars and I call my mother
"I'm buying a truck.. real soon. I can't do this again. These rain storms flood Winter Park everytime and I can't drive thru this crap."

Making my way back to Aloma Ave, I take it all the way to Lakemont Dr. and come in the back way. Nothing it's clear. Thank God. 45 minutes later I'm pulling up to my apartment and totally floored by the experience. I did take my camera out, but with the light and stuff I don't think you would have gotten how much water there truely was in the picture.

Coming in from the back way, you see all kinds of Charley debri still sitting on the side of the roads. When is that stuff gonna be picked up?? If Ivan comes like their saying he might. That will definatly be air born and well I would hate to hear about old Grandma in South Carolina be smacked on the head while sitting in her rocker on her front stoop by a piece of oak tree from Winter Park.

Speaking of Ivan...

Nice huh?? This is got my mother thinking all her stuff will be spread out all of Oviedo. I am still having hope it misses us and that we can get on with our normal lives but... is having plywood over your windows, a boiling water alert, kitchen full of bottled water and canned goods and evacuation route planned gonna be our normal lives?? If so... Idaho is looking really good now a days!!

Now back to my night... I came into my apartment with the smell of fresh flowers and a smile came across my face. There they were. My beautiful flowers BigDaddy gave me 2 days ago. I just smile everytime I look at them. Thinking about it I have come to a choice. I am going to stick it out with him and hope that we will have some good times even though I know there will be times I wish he was with me. But hey being what I am, this part come with my title.

Now I'm not selling myself short. I don't go out and party, clubbing or anything for that matter. My life has been pretty boring. So why not have someone I can chat and hang out with who deeply cares for me? That's what I said to myself last night. I got into this knowing I was not going to be at his side 24/7, so I had to be prepaired when things like this came along.

BigDaddy -
If you get a chance to read this ever. Your always in my thoughts.
